farewell to kuboba spot
filipino-inspired empanada and boba venue kuboba spot will close after service on june 20, after four years at 2618 telegraph avenue in berkeley.
the woman-owned counter-service and catering restaurant was known for sweet and savory empanadas, boba and other tropical drinks, and filipino desserts. their upcoming closure was first announced about a year ago, while they sought a buyer. (they have revealed the space's upcoming newcomer to berkeley eats, an intriguing business called world of hoagies – more on that soon.)
for now, kuboba spot's (engaged!) owners sam and seyna have expressed heartfelt gratitude to their berkeley community of patrons (students, locals, area workers), and encourage customers to please 'redeem any remaining gift cards or toast loyalty points, and enjoy their favorite empanadas and boba drinks one last time.'
kuboba spot is at 2618 telegraph avenue in berkeley, and will close after service on june 20.
