update may 2026: good news! despite the announcement, kuboba spot is still with us almost a year later.

sadly, woman-owned, filipino-inspired empanada eatery kuboba spot at 2618 telegraph avenue in berkeley has announced its upcoming closure after three years (date tbd, support them while you still can!).

students, locals and professionals on that somewhat lonely (snack-wise) stretch of telegraph will surely miss the friendly joint.

meanwhile, their post implies a search for a new spot. we'd like to suggest that they would be most welcome in the northside neighborhood...? sweet and savory empanadas, coffee and tea drinks, boba (lacking in that neighborhood)...seems perfect. just saying.
