three.one four pizzeria closed

gilman street's three.one four pizzeria and lounge announced today on social media that it will shutter indefinitely.

"after the recent break-in (2nd in 6 months) and the damage to the restaurant, this brought an immense amount of additional financial stress that we weren't prepared for," said the notice. "this was ultimately the catalyst that has made it impossible for us to continue our operation."

the gilman street pizzeria, bar and lounge opened to much anticipation in early 2024, in that it provided an upscale, welcoming, wine-friendly new option for dining, drinks and date nights in an area known more for its casual, family-friendly spaces.

"it was a dream built on heart, community and connection," continued the closing announcement. "we gave it our all and then some."

the restaurant's announcement says it is closed "for the time being." if there are additional updates we'll provide them as they happen. but for now, three.one four pizzeria at 1329 gilman street in berkeley has closed.
