pretty things craft beer bar opens
the former flora & ferment at 1122 solano avenue in albany is getting new life as craft beer bar pretty things, featuring 21 taps and a well-stocked cooler of local industry standouts – moonlight brewing, faction brewing, cellarmaker, russian river brewing and ghost town among them.

running things are zack bassett and dan b., a couple of friends and longtime industry vets in the craft beer space (patrons might recognize zack from his work as a brewer at fieldwork). upstairs, a comfortable lounge area offers a mezzanine view onto the relaxed scene below; downstairs features a wide, roomy space with high ceilings, a long bar, 21 taps (including lukr and nitro for special pours) and, in a nod to local industry history, a few furnishings from oakland's still-missed bar and bottle shop the good hop (rip).

for now the bar is open weekends from, 'around 3ish' to 10pm on saturdays, and until 9pm on sundays; look for expanded opening hours after may 1. no kitchen on site, but outside food is welcome. the bar also serves a short menu of ciders, wines and nonalcoholic beverages.
