new turkish restaurant divan coming to fourth street

modern turkish restaurant and bar divan, from the team behind san francisco's taksim mediterranean and turkish restaurant, will soon open at 1788 fourth street in the former pollara space.

the notable fourth street shopping district restaurant property is undergoing an upscale redesign, including a new full bar and dining room, as well as an updated, dedicated dining terrace to the far left of the entrance.

according to owner serkan sozen, 'divan' refers to the central seating area in a turkish home, and implies togetherness, hospitality and warmth. divan will serve turkish cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and will also have a full bar with unique, turkish- and mediterranean-inspired spirits and cocktails.

the new restaurant is aiming for a spring opening, in either late april or may. follow progress here.
