albany destination california-palestinian restaurant lulu on solano from chef mona leena is reformatting into new, counter-service concept lulu's little kichen, after a final day of full service for the restaurant on january 31.
the counter-service concept will open february 14 in the same space at 1106 solano avenue, and feature a new, streamlined menu of hot and cold rice bowls, roti wraps and sides for lunch and early dinner.

fans of lulu on solano's popular middle eastern brunch service should note that several of the restaurant's favorite brunch plates will continue to be served on weekends (saturdays and sundays only), including shukaquiles, knafeh pancakes and baklava French toast.
in a press release, the restaurant calls the new counter-service format a method to "prioritize sustainability, affordability and inclusivity," featuring added focus on accessible, healthful choices while maintaining lulu's bold middle eastern flavors.
a subscription service in partnership with table 22 will also begin for customers interested in more elaborate dishes from chef mona leena. more details on that to come, with updates happening on instagram.
lulu's little kitchen will officially open february 14, and will operate wednesday-sunday from 11:30am-7:30pm. the restaurant will be located at 1106 solano avenue in albany.
