farewell tkk chicken, welcome my-o-my shawarma #2

after only one year, the tkk fried chicken chain location at southside's 2431 telegraph avenue, at the base of the funky enclave student apartment complex, has permanently closed.

moving in soon will be a second location for canadian shawarma and poutine outfit (and northside neighborhood favorite since 2023) my-o-my shawarma.

the group sells rotisserie, halal meats in fast-casual wraps, rice bowls, and over french fries and poutine, with spice levels from none to extra hot. platter sized portions are generous and meant for sharing; soda here is called "pop." a check-in at the original location reveals the second one will open within the next couple of weeks.

berkeley's my-o-my shawarma at 1866 euclid avenue will expand soon to a second location at 2431 telegraph avenue, also in berkeley.
