the cheese board's full-service cheese counter is up and running as of this week, and a grand opening for the expanded counter in the beautiful new north berkeley space (with a return for the old playing card number system) happens this saturday, june 13. ♥️♣️♦️🧀
goop kitchen now open out of the adeline food hall for local delivery only. (the chronicle did a fuller profile here.)
dhakatopi nepalese grocery opened a few weeks back in el cerrito. on offer: groceries, pantry goods, candy, beverages and cafe foods from nepal.
the oakland athletic club opens in time to make this list, tomorrow, june 11, at 11am.

millennium in oakland reopens next week, for dinner wednesdays-saturdays with counter service. think little gem salads, crusted oyster mushrooms, vegan burgers, pasta. prix-fixe patio dining and a la carte options at the bar. tuesday night vegan pizza coming july. reopening wednesday, june 17.

milyar coffee has shuttered in berkeley. (according to contractors on site and papers on the door, they were evicted.) thanks to a friend for the tip.
arthur mac's announced it will close its oakland location and move basecamp to hayward, timing tbd, probably late fall.
we were surprised to see via the e'ville eye that prominent food kiosk koja kitchen has closed at the public market emeryville.
malibu's burgers in oakland has closed.
the xocolate bar's last day and farewell party is july 4. (open daily until then.)
